2nd to comment! This probably makes little sense. I wrote while listening! This is still a kids show so i dunno if they’ll kill Azula. Maybe they’ll fogive her for her sins or she’ll redeem herself. Won’t it be hard to kill Ozai? Will the phoenix lord give him immunity? How can u kill something that is enternal? They have their work cut out for them >.

The rest got cut off! so here it is… I love the songs Iroh sings! Four seasons, Four loves! Can’t wait for that podcast. I think Sukka is probable but i agree with Farah i LOVE YUEXSOKKA. Taang is cute. I love it! Azula and Sokka scare me. :S I would like to see Toph grow up and become a little more girly. I can see Toph being a teacher for disabled kids or something. to teach them to use bending so they aren’t disabled. to help people not become like her. She’s very gounded to the earth kingdom i doubt she’d ever move from there. I think Katara already has feelings for Zuko that she is unaware of that is why she was hurt by him. Love the Podcast. It was short and sweet. Love the song! ZUTARA FOREVER. Happy Birthday Dragon Jadefire!

Awesome podcast!
One thing I noticed is that since the whole thing literally sounded slower than usual, a lot of the voices got a lot deeper…but besides that, everything else was awesome! Some things to say:
-Phoenix Lord? Sounds kinda…cheesy… :/
-Dayumn! I wish I could go to the NYCC! But i can’t…I live all the way in CALIFORNIA!! So freakin far away….:(
-Wow, first Iroh’s buff, and now Aang…omfg, what is going on in the world?!?! And I seriously did not notice the water and fire circling each other!!!
-AANG’S IN THE AVATAR STATE! AANG’S IN THE AVATAR STATE!! AANG’S IN THE AVATAR STATE!! HE LET GO OF HER! HE LET GO OF HER! HE LET GO!
-…poor sozin…hahhaa
-”zuko and katara kiss, aang sees it, aang dies..” haha, i still remember that quote!! haha
-”baby, you’re my forever girl!” HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA That is HILARIOUS!! Zuko saying that!! HAHA!
-Wow, first Toph is discussed to die, then Katara is discussed to die, and now IROH!! dun dun dun~!
-I never heard of that spoiler about Zuko hugging Katara!!! How come I never heard of that?! OMG!! I never heard of it! OMG!! Holy CRAP!
-Isn’t it kinda weird that first, ozai was gonna “sacrifice” zuko because of what azulon told him to do, and now azula is gonna be “sacrificed”? kinda…coincidental…
-as for the comet coming, do you think zuko will be like totally lightning bending and stuff?! cuz techinically, azula can’t lightningbend, she can blue-fire blend, but zuko can redirect LIGHTNING!!

-When you guys were discussing the whole Aunt Wu deal, I just remembered that in Bato of the Water Tribe way back in season 1, Aunt Wu was technically sorta “hitting” on Iroh, and then he said something like, “in my age, there is only one real surprise left…” i think that meant that iroh’s gonna die(well duh).
-you know what I think? I think the only real reason that Azula keeps ty lee around as her best friend is because ty lee pretty much praises azula on every little thing that she does, and i think azula wants those little praises because of how her mom treated her and how that treatment brought down her low self esteem. you see what i’m saying?
-i LOVE all the songs in ATLA, well, except for The Swamp song while the swampbenders were traveling through the swamp. but I LOVE all the songs!
-for me, im personally more of a sukka fan, but that’s mostly because I tend to ship the pairings i see first. like, for me and how i became a zutarian, i saw an episode on nick(rerun of appa’s lost days in Nov. 2006), i fell in love with it, i researched avatar online, i saw a rumor post in a forum about katara healing zuko’s scar, i gasped, i saw the first trailer for CoD on youtube, spazzed even more, and i automatically became a zutarian, after ONE episode of avatar that didn’t even have any relevation to the ships. so, basically, i saw sukka first in a rerun episode, then saw the yuokka episodes a few months later, so yeah…
-i love azulokka as a crack ship, its so funny!!! but i see it as a crach ship because since zuko is azula’s brother, and katara is sokka’s sister, and if azula and sokka hook up, zuko and katara can’t be together…but then again, there is that whole “forbidden love” thing…
-TOPH = KING BUMI!! Toph and Bumi are both wild!!
Toph can bend metal, bumi can bend with his head…haha
-think zutara, think zutara, think zutara! zutara is a cure to all things bad!
-katara is…exotic? haha! i completely cracked up when i heard that!
-btw, i was reading through some debates on deviantArt, and i read something that a kataanger said. and they were basically making a rebuddle for what a zutarian said about aang having to let go of katara to go into the avatar state. they said, “but does he HAVE to let her go?” and stuff like that. im sorry, but i just had to point that out!
-and i also thought a lot about the CoD and how katara was practically just standing there with her hand on his face. i mean, if katara had kept her eyes closed, i actually thought they were about to kiss there because of that frozen moment! i realy thought that! *gasp* maybe she was just caught up in how good zuko looks up upfront! haha
-you know what’s really ironic? my mic always works, but i never use it! but you guys use your mics a lot, but urs don’t work all that well for you guys! so ironic!
-i think the reason for zuko not knowing how to react to katara’s crying was because the only people he was surrounded by was with people who actually don’t cry in front of others (coughMAIcough). just like, the “teary confession” he wanted in the Beach.
-once again, AWESOME PODCAST!! i totally love it!! and i was crackin up so hard with all the random stufffs you guys said!
btw, if i sound like a spazzy fangirl, sorry! but i’m just born that way.

Okay so I’m going to begin with some theories lool
So I was reading through the comments and someone mention that line Mai has “What do you want from me? “A teary eyed confession about my childhood!” So that got me wondering, DOESN’T THIS SEEM FAMILIAR TO ANYONE??? HOW ABOUT IN THE CROSSROADS OF DESTINY that is exactly what happens. Katara spills it out, she lets all the feelings inside of her, the ones that had made her the most sad and angry and she reveals them to Zuko. As we all know the creators do everything for a reason so why was this here? To show us that despite the relationship he has with Mai isn’t bad, he craves for something more. He felt more connected to some Water Tribe girl that is supposedly his enemy than with his own girlfriend. So, if there’s more connection between him and Katara, what does this parallel means? It means that what he now seeks for his future in a relationship is someone that is passionate and emotional in the way that she feels things. I’ve read some of your theories and there was one (I don’t know by which one you it was written by) but it claimed that Katara changed the way Zuko sees things and that it was a catalyser, the moment he had with her, for his change. So thinking along those lines we can honestly conclude that if his encounter with Katara underneath Ba Sing Se changed not only the view he had of the world but also the view of the person he wants by him. It’s like she became that role model, that example of a perfect person and even though he doesn’t know yet it will ultimately be what guides him towards him: The fact that she brings out “THE REAL ZUKO”. She made him a better person for some single minutes in the catacombs, imagine what it wouldn’t do to him being with her all the time. I think that we will still see some changes in Zuko and as he grows Katara’s feeling for him will grow too. Still I don’t think she’ll admit it. You girl answered one of my questions unintentionally lol. I asked in a e-mail who did you think was going to take the first step and I totally agree. Zuko will. Why? Because that is want he unwarily wants now. He wants a real person, not an utopic person.
Now onto to Kataang. I think we will still have more Kataang moments? Why? Because Zutara is going to happen only when Katara is ready and I believe she will only be ready at the very end of the series around episode 18. And why do I believe this? To not ruin the very magical, awesome, epic, indescribable, wordless moment we are going to rejoice seeing: The Zutara kiss. So I, like you, believe there will be a build up but unlike so many theories I’ve heard along the way I think love will only be shown on the last effort of the gaang. Yes Zuko will show Katara that he has changed and that is going to make her very confuse (note that Zuko, now that he knows what he wants will not be confused at all about his feelings but he will respect both Aang and Katara and will not make a very bold move on her). She will then open up to him about her mother, and I still believe it will be Katara lashing out at Zuko, being angry with the world and making him pay for it. He will comfort her I a way unlike we have ever seen. He will not just say “I’m sorry” but he will do what he wanted Mai to do. Show emotion. He will show her that he cares deeply about her and that she is not alone, and that will make her even more confuse. At the prospect of losing Zuko she will tell him how she feels and they will kiss.
Now, Azulokka. I totally love that ship. Still I believe that Sukka will be canon in the end. (it already is). Okay so I think Azula shouldn’t die. See it this way: she is just like Zuko. All she ever wanted was to be loved, in this case by her mother, and as Zuko craved for attention by crying and being moody she, well, just became the best at everything she did. She never had as much attention as the mommy’s boy and Ozai doesn’t really love her, and she knows that. She will ultimately learn that she doesn’t need to be perfect to be loved and redeem herself. Maybe she will fall in love with Haru XD I would laugh so hard at it. After writing such long comment I just hope you have fun at comic con and please have fun for me. Don’t forget to record it and to comment on it. Ah you are so lucky. Keep up the great job. Long Live Zutara!!!!!!

Great podcast! I thought it was an interesting theory you had about Aang going into the Avatar state because he thought he lost Katara, but hopefully she doesn’t actually die.
I really enjoy hearing the questions that listeners e-mail you and your responses to them. Maybe since you have so many you could dedicate one podcast to e-mail questions. Just a suggestion. Keep up the great work!

But I was sad when you mentioned you wouldn’t have time to read and plug fan fics.
If your guy’s only problem is no time to read the fics, I’m a fast reader and could easily give you guys a few fics to plug each week.

Oh the material! So much material to work with from NYCC! I keep checking up on all your sites to see the new pics and journal entries, and I think I’ve seen all the spoiler trailers by now. I’m hoping that by the time the next podcast airs you will have some interesting theories about all the events alluded to by the trailer and Ember Island clip. Definitely tell your predictions about the mysterious person in the Ninja training scene, because frankly, I am at a loss (and your theories about what their apparent ‘mission’ is with the ninja outfits). Keep up the good work, and spaz your heads off this week!!

i hate to do this, but i’d like to start off my comment with a contradiction to something you guys said. you started to talk about how Ozai becoming Phoenix Lord meaning he was going to gain some mystical ability. what he’s really doing, if you look at it free of context, he is going from being king -not to god- but to dictator. it’s simply a logical rise to power.
i also don’t believe azula will die. i personally like to think that when ozai is confronted by aang, he will point to azula and say “she’s fire lord now,” but instead of accepting it, i think azula will become surprised (for once) and get upset with her father. i think she’d be ready to hurt him, to kill him, but then as you later said, would crumple up, and fail to do it.
about aang coming into the avatar state, i like you theories, though i’m not sure if it will be katara and zuko kissing that makes aang leave her behind, nor do i feel like it will be her being mortally wounded. i think she’ll finally open up to him. like that one part of the new trailer, where she runs up and hugs him, and he hugs her back? i think he’ll have been confronted one-on-one by her again, and he’ll respond that he hadn’t been lying about his mother to get pity. he’ll explain his whole mother situation, and she’ll snap inside, and go and hug him… as we see in the trailer. probably not right, but i like it.
on the brighter, nicer side, i love your podcasts. keep ‘em up!

However, I do think there is some merit in what the the podcasters were saying (king to god), mostly because I think the Fire Lord Azula and Phoenix Lord Ozai is a parallel to Fire Prince Zuko (or possibly Iroh) and Avatar Aang. A phoenix is a mythical fire bird that dies and rises again and again. It’s a symbol of immortality, but also resurrection. Just like the Avatar. I imagine there can only be one true Fire Lord as well as one true phoenix in this story and it’s definitely not Azula and Ozai. As we know, Ozai wasn’t only a usurper ruler (Iroh should have been the rightful ruler) but Azula wasn’t even his firstborn, Zuko was.
Ozai titling himself “Phoenix Lord” is also likely synonymous with galvanizing the belief of the dominance of Fire Nation (started by Sozin and propagated by his heirs), that this dominance and those that are stewards of it will never die. Even if one dies physically, the next generation will be there to see it through, as Ozai passed the Fire Lord title to Azula, his loyal (equally malevolent) heir. However, Ozai is a false phoenix and an unlawful ruler. With the rise of the true phoenix, Avatar Aang, destined to oust the usurper, the fallacy of the immortality of Fire Nation’s dominance will go down with Ozai (and likely Azula).

I think toph would end up sorta like the swordmaster, like not accepting many students unless their worthy in her mind. An awesome Earthbender who takes students as she pleases and goes on trips as she pleases.
