Episode 1 : It’s all about the build up!
Alright all you loyal Zutarian fangirls! (yes I’m talking to you!)
Episode 1 has been released! This is technically the first actual episode, and we all hope you enjoy listening in!
This podcast goes over Episode 312 “The Western Air Temple” So spoilers abound! If you haven’t seen it yet through a Y-TV leak yet, you probably shouldn’t listen. Lol, otherwise, enjoy!
(Warning: Lots of *headpalm* and *fangirl sigh* moments! Be wary of moody fangirl hosts!) XD

Greta podcast guys!
Love it so much!
Too bad about your mic spazzage, though, Farah. But we still got most of what you said so its all good.
I want to thank your Kataang buddy Zmann for helping with this podcast too even if he does hate Zutara. Lol The service to the cause is still much appreciated! XD
Comments on the actual content of the cast:
- I loved the point about the events the gaang mentioned to Toph! I didn’t notice that each event was a personal one to them. My ears pricked at the mention of pirates ofc(What kind of Zutarian would I be if they hadn’t? >>), but I never made the connection you guys did! Brilliant.
- To critique a second, The Storm is episode 112 while Waterbending Scroll was episode 109. So WBS happened before The Storm. Just fyi cus there was some confusion about that early on.
- About Katara and Aang’s relationship being one-sided, I totally agree! And, since I think of her as his mother figure, I don’t think it’s a knock to say so.
- Monica… you are so gonna get flamed for saying Zukaang is equivalent to Kataang! XDDD But it made me laugh.
- I totally agree that Toph is gonna be the one that Katara spills to about her feelings.
- And OMGosh the saying goodbye to Kataang and Maiko in DOBS? GOLD! I can’t believe I didn’t notice that parallel!
- About Mai’s “taking away of Zuko’s stress” thing, those kisses finally stopped working in “Nightmares & Daydreams” when he turned away. Even that wouldn’t work anymore.
Ok, so, this podcast ruled! Lol
One critique: You could streamline the intro music/montage of audio clips thing a bit more. I liked it, but it seemed to drag the tiniest bit.
Nice job. Loved the info on your friendships, too. I was kinda wondering myself.
Can’t wait to hear the next one. Great job all!
March 13th, 2008 at 1:20 am
Great job you guys. Trishina, it was hard to hear you. Your mike seemed way lower than the others. I did start to hear you better towards the end.
I am glad that you guys addressed 312 and 313.
I wish you had mentioned Katara’s reaction to Zuko getting taken out by Combustion Man and her reaction to the reveal that he was still alive. If she hated Zuko as much as others say, she would have danced a jig or shouted in delight when he was assumed dead and threw a temper tantrum when she found out he was alive. In fact, she did not give him her angry face until his feet safely reached the ground.
And in 313, Zuko said that maybe fire bending worked only with anger or being evil (his exact words escape me) but Katara’s voice changed after he said this. She was not being sarcastic or cruel when she told him that that was ridiculous. Her voice was calm and reassuring. She did not say anything else to him, during that scene.
You guys feel the same way about Maiko and Kataang that I do. I have once alluded to a thought that we could have been saying goodbye to canon romantic Maiko and Kataang in DOBS, in a discussion with someone in MizzSweet’s essay (the last one written, I think) comments. It was great to hear someone else say it. Zutara minds think alike.
I can tell that you guys or friends just by listening. I can’t wait until next week’s pod cast.
March 13th, 2008 at 1:56 am
O…M…G that podcast was totally awesome! every little detail that all 3 of you pulled in together was absolute…just like…wow. I swear, with almost everything you guys said, i was so moved by it and how much it proves that zutara will pretty much stick it to the end and all that. i mean i totally agreed with everything you said, as always.
truthfully, when katara mentioned the pirates in 312, i didn’t even realize how much depth that that one line held.
also, the whole kataang bit and how its only one sided, i totally agree! a lot of kataangers that have either stumbled upon me or me stumbling upon them from just about any website in which we were able to interact or comment, they all said the same thing, that kataang was canon. to be honest, i don’t even think kataang is canon since it is only one sided. if katar felt the same way towards aang as he is with her, then yeah, it might have been canon, but its not.
when you said that zukaang was practically the same thing as kataang, this lightbulb just flashed in front of my eyes in realizing that what you said was right. also, when you mentioned how zuko and katara act as authority figures and mentors to aang, i was like WOW since being mentors to aang, it would sorta be like katara and zuko are parents to aang! when i heard you guys mention that, i was like, OMG thats so true!
what you said about katara spilling the beans to toph first, i was like, “hmm, where have i heard that before? oh yeah! the fanfics!” in a lot of the fanfics(ones that are not AU), they usually have toph being thph or iroh being the first ones to figure out her feelings. speaking of iroh, i wonder what happened to him…
honestly, when you all mentioned the whole maiko/kataang saying goodbye thing, i swear, my face had like the biggest grin ever imaginable! i seriously can’t believe i hadn’t noticed that part until you guys mentioned it!
as for the maiko thing, i totally knew that that ship was like totally not gonna last, i mean, if mai just says a bunch of small comforting words and a measly kiss everytime zuko’s confused, then that’s just gonna add all up to nothing!
and when monica mentioned the 1, 2, 3 seasons where katara and zuko interacted yet changed so much over that period of time, that sounded so incredibly familiar! i think it sounded familiar since i did that screenshot thing with it literally pointing out the positions and face expressions, but still, when you mentioned it here, i was like whoa, thats so cool!!!!
honestly, before i heard this podcast today, i actually thought you guys knew each other as real life friends who personally knew each other. i never would’ve thought that you met from devART. i was like WOW
anyway, just wanted to say that i personally loved this podcast, and that i cant wait til the next one and that im prolly gonna squeal when i hear the next one. also, just from listening to this one podcast, i can automatically tell that you three are extremely fun people and that i wish i can be as fun as you all were today!
i can’t wait til the next podcast!!!
March 13th, 2008 at 2:33 am
I love this! I’d love to post a more in-depth review, but I’ve got to get back to my schoolwork. But, man! Fantastic job, girls! I listened to this while working on my art homework, and I wish it was longer!
I can’t wait for the next one
PS - Do I need to buy Farah a new mic? ;P
March 13th, 2008 at 5:21 am
Hello girls^_^ right now im still listening to your podcast. and i like to say great job^_^ . but yeah. jsut wanted to left a message about who u say u dont see maiko happening. i totally see the same thing. i dotn real rememebr how i explan to my friends on the forums but to me.
yeah your right they just split up more and more. cuz zuko wanted to find out from him self want to do. and mai is always like just telling him to fellow orders and never real asking him whats wrong and stuff. never real get close . yeah she did have her caring about him and stuff and the soft moment in the beach but everything else like she just doesnt want do thigns. or wait tell she been told. you cant tell zuko to wait he wants to go out there and grab things he wants to know whast going on. like how katara express hwe self. and everything . he deosnt get that with may
even if zutara doesnt happen. Katara is better person to be close to over all then mai. its her that will make him will it is already. to learn about his self cuz of what she told him that what the fire nation did to her and how he learn how another people suffer from the fire nation. thats whats overall made him realize what his true goal in life is^_6 so yeah. i dont think he ever will go back to may. i hope zutara happen and if not you knoe your going to see something close between then. at lest you knoe they will both teach each another thigns and your right zuko is im guessing in one of the epsiode will be the one asking if she is ok and what is bugging her and stuff
March 13th, 2008 at 11:19 am
I love the Podcast, ladies. I can’t wait for the next one.
March 13th, 2008 at 11:58 am
A stimulating panel discussion to be sure, Much ground was covered and many areas of contention explored. Splendid work, I eagerly anticipate the next installment
March 13th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
Hey Guys! Great podcast!
You said at one point that “Katara was probably the first girl Aang had ever seen”. HOWEVER, this is not true! He went to the Eastern air temple (as we see in the Appa centric episodes from Season 2, that is where he gets Appa.) And the eastern and western air temples are the female dominated temples. However, I get what you were saying. Katara was the first female, other than Air Nuns, that Aang had ever met, and I believe he did confuse the feeling of a son-mother relationship with attraction… Zuko never had that kinda relationship with her, so further evidence for Zutara there! WOOT!
March 13th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
Yes … a new mic would be oh so cool! i mean the one i have i bought two weeks ago.. i HATE IT THO. it goes around my head and gives me much pain
*sniffs*
XD thanks for the offer Riza *giggle*
you all count yourselves lucky.. I didn’t get to go on any rant spazzes XD
March 13th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
HI, So, i’m commenting as I hear what you o great Zutaraian’s say!
-I dont like Aang either! He’s just annoying!! Thats why I dont like him. -I agree with the whole 12-14 being SSOOOOO much bigger then 14-16. -I also agree with Aang age factor. So many ppl (including my dad) “are like, he’s 112!! He’s old.” Not, he’s like 10 in maturity!! -The whole time I was watching the western air temple I thought “Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned.” I mean, Katara is sooo mad at Zuko. Not because of battle wounds but because of love. -I’m on the fence about the ‘we dont do fan-service’ because on the commentary of Day of Black Sun, they said/acknowledged, “zutaraians are feirce and passionate.” I think it was you greenifyme that made me super aware about that on your journal. But then I watched it for myself. -Air time does not lie, you guys are sooo right!!! -Kataang scene’s are mostly immature. -Exactly Kataang is ALWAY’S one sided!! Totally agree! -Totally, the ending scene’s are important. Zutara has always been at the end.
-Exactly, Katara feel’s the need to be motherly like for Aang. AKA not crying in front of the kids.
-Is it just me or has Haru aged the most in the season?
-Toph is at the same immaturity,
(in a good way.) They’re their for each other. GO TAANG.
Though my therie is that once he masters the avatar state and gives up Katara he can love Toph.
-All Mai and Zuko have is small childhood scenes, nothing really. They’re not children anymore.
-I love your answer to your little sister; “honestly I dont really know, just go with it.” Even when I saw the ‘zine I was still what the heck?
-Mai was the rebound girl, Zuko was kinda hurt in the cave so he roubounded to Mai.
-Why haven’t they talked about their kiss (kattang?) I’m not sure! But I agree about the mom “dragging him to do the homework.”
-:D Great Idea with the feet lie detector!! COOL! GO TOPH!!
-Dance-yeah, its still just a kiss on the cheek. I 100% agree with you.
Cant totally comment on 313 since I havent watched it, but love the Yin-Yang stuff!
-Mai just goes along with her friends. And so I agree with you about Mai somehow helping. -About the cannon moment of Zutara I think that it will happen. And maybe fast, like with suki/sokka it only took 2 epi’s. And dont forget Azuala and the firenation dude that invited the gaang to the party. It only took them 1 episode to have a make-out scene.
Great art chosen!!
This first official podcast was sooooo fun!! Cannot wait for the next one! Hope Farah gets a new mic, it’s too bad it wasn’t working right now.
I think I can tell who the organized one of the group is Erica/GreenifyME.
..Reminding everyone else about the disclaimer and the fact that you are running out of time. Great job!!!
Farah and Monika you girls are also great!!
I think it would be better if the podcast was only 2 hours, or an 1 1/2.
BYE!!! Rose
March 13th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
hey you galz, you did a great thing with them podcasts! It’s amusing to listen to you guys and well i agree with ya on ya points hehehe. LOL YOU VOICES ARE GREAT!!! Though one of you could adjust the mic better next time? You sound kinda far and soft ^^
Hehehe the sweatdrop thing i was all like Uh-OH for Zuko! LOlz you gals keep this up please!!!!!!
greetings Jen
March 13th, 2008 at 4:06 pm
I wanted to make a comment last night after I listened but…it was really late.
I’m really thrilled you guys brought up the maturity factor, that girls mature faster then boys. I’ve been trying to make that argument for a while now.
Also you guys pointed out something that I didn’t realize until you said it. No Katara has never shared her feeling with Aang. Only people like Haru and Jet….and Zuko….And we clearly saw, that Katara had a thing for Haru (She did blush when she first saw him in DoBS) and as we leaned from Toph, she did like Jet. So knowing the fact that she has now shred her feeling toward Zuko….lets us know something.
Overall, I loved the podcast! It was great to hear all three of you together! You guys always bring my faith back to Zutara!!!
March 13th, 2008 at 4:52 pm
You guys are awesome
There are so many OMGs I’d like to say but after the whole podcast, I dont remember half of them. I’m just amazed that I never noticed Katara never talked to Aang about her mom like she did to zuko!!!!
Also, if you think about it, the Katara we see in fanart, fanfiction, or comics, is the Katara we see around Zuko. And it’s so true that the Gaang is going to notice how different she’s acting.
Cant wait for more!!! ^_____________^
March 13th, 2008 at 6:14 pm
hey guys, relatively new avatar fan here. i’ve never posted on any of your journals or anything (but i do lurk on deviantart a lot, haha), but i just HAD to reply to this because this podcast idea was SO awesome!
i love how you mentioned the fact that kataang is a one-sided thing. it’s definitely true! there’s also a lot of kataangers who say that just because aang likes katara, then she should immediately like him back… but no one ever mentions katara’s feelings. and i love how you brought up the fact that katara is always the one who has to listen to aang’s problems, too. i’ve never really noticed that before, or that she’s never talked about her mother in front of him, either…
also loved the whole dragon/yin and yang thing when you were discussing FBM. kinda wish you would’ve gone more in depth on that aspect, but you still did a really good job getting your points across.
anyway, great job on your first podcast, and i can’t wait to hear more!
-Azzy
March 13th, 2008 at 6:41 pm
Ok you were talking about yin and yang and opposites and having a bit of each other. Well for observant peoples (like us zutarians) it’s pretty obvious what the symbols mean. yin and yang symbol is a circle with white and black teary thingies that complement each other therefore the theory of opposites attraction but also if one observes it closely in the white smudge there’s a black circle and in the black smudge there’s a withe circle which means that even though they are different, opposites, black and white, good and evil, male and female, day and night there’s always little piece of one and other in each other. so yeah zutara is like that they are different, they come from totally different backgrounds but they complement each other, there’s always something zuko has to offer katara and vice versa and of course there are similarities to tie the opposites together, to tie zuko and katara together. I agree with you on Aang right now has nothing to offer Katara. About him being a kid and all i have to disegree. Toph is as old as him and has a lot more of insight. I kind of consider Taang a good option because of exactly the oppoosites thing. I think Aang as the Avatar and as a man needs to know love, real love, and i think Toph is perfect, because unlike Katara she doesn’t have any attachments, so she can fallow Aang wherever it’s needed. She is the solid ground Aang needs, as we all know he is air headed. So I think that they are more beffiting of each other than Katara and Aang. Also as you referred Zuko and Aang went alone to find the source of Firebending and it’s routes. If Katara was as worried as she said in 3×12 about Aang’s safety wouldn’t she go along or send Sokka or something? In my opinion she doesn’t trust Zuko not because he can hurt Aang but because he can (and already has) hurt her. She doesn’t know how to deal with betrayal and having Zuko there, to make her deal with it is proving hard. Ok another theory I have is that one of the reasons Katara is so mad right now it was because she wasn’t needed. She is the “mother” f the gaang. whenever anyone needs counseling they go to her. When anyone is indecisive or has a problem they all go to her and Zuko at first seemed willing to let her be he mother she so desperately needs to be, because it is what she has been all her life. But when he rejected her help and sorted out his problems by himself i think she felt not need and that her role and her point in life was no longer as strong as she thought it was. There’s this young strong guy that could pick himself up from the floor. And i think that is one of the reasons Katara and Zuko belong together. Katara never has anyone to pick her up, to motivate her and to take care of her and now Zuko is strong enough to do that for both. So i think we will see something like crossroads of destiny again but this time it will be Zuko picking up the pieces from Katara’s life, most probably as GreenifyMe already said when Katara’s mother’s killer appears. Oh another thing, has anyone noticed that the two first seasons final episode ended with a lot of Zutara focus? Their battle in siege of the North Pole and then another battle when she went to rescue Aang and in season two their sharing of feelings and an awesome fight between them both. I think that is foreshadowing for the 3rd season’s finale too. I don’t know…just throwing random things in here lol. Oh and I think that probably Mai (although she is not really bad….but she isn’t good either) will be banished in the end… and I really don’t see Maiko going any further. They stagnate there where they were, and in a relationship first and foremost there has to be mental intimacy. I mean Zuko has to be able to understand and help out with his lover’s problems and vice versa, and although Mai loved him and wanted to see him happy i don’t think she has the personality development and maturity to help Zuko understand himself and his problems. Whenever he tried to point something out that was wrong in his life she would just kiss him and advert the subject. She is not emotionally capable of dealing with her own problems let alone Zuko’s. And Katara, as we all know, is very used to listening and helping people with problems. OK when i remember something more i’ll post again. Great podcast and idea ^^
March 13th, 2008 at 8:15 pm
Okay, you’re still on my top 10 list of most awesome-and-totally-crazy-about-Zutara people! And although this one took, like, an hour long and I couldn’t get everything down on what I would’ve written about in this comment, long story short: I loved it! There were a few parts that I actually said, “Wow, awesome!” and there was even a part or two that I laughed! One of my favorite parts (there’s tons of them ^^) is the ying yang part. I’ve always heard “Zuko’s a firebender and Katara’s a waterbender and opposites attract, so they obviously attract” type of things from other Zutaraians, but you gave it a deeper meaning than that and you explained to us that there’s more than just being opposite because of the element that they bend and where they come from. And it makes so much sense! Also I loved the part that Zuko says goodbye to Mai and Katara says goodbye to Aang. I was just like, “OMG no way!” I didn’t even notice that. … Come to think of it, there’s alot that I didn’t notice o.O -.- omg, that just made me sound so simple-minded. *shrugs* who cares? Anyway, so I’ve always agreed since GreenifyMe mentioned it that Mai may not be the one that Zuko chooses in the end. Although she cares for him and she’s in love with him, no matter how much she tries she may never really and fully understand Zuko. Katara on the other hand does… in a way… but I guess she will if they talk it out (omg if there’ll be a moment in the coming chapters that they actually do, I can’t wait for it). I won’t write much about this, but I completely agree on the Aang loves Katara, but its not exactly written in stone how she feels about him. Aang doesn’t know the difference between a mother and a girlfriend (which we can totally understand) so it’s obvious why he can’t understand Katara’s ways around him. She does act like a mom, and not just around him, but to the whole gaang, too. I guess that eventually it’ll clairify itself in the coming chapters. … okay, I lied about not writing much on this part ^^; So something else that I really liked was that you have your song of the week and fan art of the week and questions and all that stuff. It makes the podcast so much cooler than it already is ^^ I can’t wait for the next one!
March 13th, 2008 at 8:27 pm
K, i’m like commenting again, but that’s cuz i really love this podcast!! in fact, i downloaded it and ive been listening to it ever since last night! anyway, this is a really awesome podcast!
also, although this is an episode for 312 and 313, maybe there might have been some kind of hint in the little chibi version for avatar like school time shipping, b/c for one part, when katara chose the blue spirit, zuko was actually the one who prety much yelled and cried much much more than jet or haru, or even aang did. maybe, even though that was just a little short, maybe just maybe there was some kind of another hint in that that mike and bryan wanted to show everyone…
so yeah, just wanted to point that out.
this podcast was totally awesome and i can’t wait until the next podcast!!!!
March 13th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
Nice podcast, like i said on your journal, greenifyme, you guys bring m zutarian hope!
Hey, i was wondering if you’d like me to write a transcript of your podcast. so you can see what you said (or other people) instead oflistening to a 80 minute podcast. lol
if you see this, please reply in a notet on my deviantart account (Lilqueeny.deviantart.com)
i was writing down some things you guys said and i though, why not write a transcript?
But i don’t want to do it and have you say that you don’t need it, Lol
- lauren
March 13th, 2008 at 11:57 pm
Speaking as a fan of the podcast, I know I would liek to see a transcript. Just my two cents of course.
March 14th, 2008 at 10:19 am
Hey girls! Loved your podcast! I had some points I had figured out myself already (like the kataang-zukaang alikeness and the kataang-maiko parallel in DOBS) but you made me think about the other things you said!! I really hope Toph’s going to be the one hearing out Katara first, would love to see that! Also, I have nothing to say, exept for the fact that the Waterbending Scroll is before The Storm (like AlleluiaElizabeth pointed out already) but for the rest, wonderfull!! I couldn’t stop grinning
. Also, really good choice on the fanart of the week, and the song of the week ^^ can’t wait for the next Podcast!
love, AvatarIda
March 14th, 2008 at 1:42 pm
HA, I don’t like Aang eighter!!! Why? ‘coz I never liked the main character… never did… in any show I’ve ever watched (which is only Avatar and Dragonball Z, which makes me realize I wanted for Bulma and Vegeta to get together and everybody in my direct friendship relationships laughed at me, and I laughed the hardest when they DID end up together… Kinda like zutara is for me now). Anyhows… I’m starting to ramble about stuff that isn’t important to the show… happens A LOT to me
Just wanted to say I love the podcast, can’t wait for the next… blablabla… the usual stuff you probably read in almost ever comment.
Ciao, altern-angel
March 14th, 2008 at 4:25 pm
Hey guys, awesome first podcast! Your only problem is going to be topping this one! I mean, there’s not much more to say… Kataang is one-sided, Zutara is dynamic!
Few things though: I think I remember you guys saying there would be a debate soon. I’d really like that, because although I’m totally Zutarian, I wouldn’t mind hearing Zmann or someone rebuttal with stuff. It gives more depth.
Also, I was kind of sad that you guys didn’t mention how Aang and Katara CAN’T work, due to her being the reason his chakra is locked up. Day of the Black Sun showed even more that Aang MUST be able to go into the Avatar state if he wants to defeat the fire lord. I think that’s why they kept showing how unprepared he was, and how he knew himself that he was unprepared.
Other than that, awesome stuff! Love the show, and keep it up!
- Cherie-ange-jade
March 14th, 2008 at 5:07 pm
Trust me Cherie-Ange-Jade, we will get to the whole chakra thing. In fact, there is still a TON of stuff to discuss.
And we will also be having debates with Zmann in the future.
March 14th, 2008 at 8:02 pm
Loved the first podcast. I’ll be tuning in whenever I can. Love the arguements you presented. Makes me feel all warm you guys spend over and hour on this.
March 14th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
Wow, thats all I can say…
Well I lied, I can definitely say more…
This is a wonderful podcast ladies. I loved every minute of it, the whole time i was nodding my head in agreement. You guys mentioned things that I have never thought of before. Any doubts i ever had about Zutara have been banished from my mind.
Thank you very much for the best hour of my day.
In my opinion, this wasn’t long enough.
March 14th, 2008 at 9:04 pm
Hey guys! I’m a fallen Zutarian, to tell the truth - I gave up on the ship a while ago. I decided it was safer to be hopeless, and I got sick of M&B teasing us and dragging us around. Great storytelling, no doubt, but it’s painful when you’re invested in a ship.
That being said, I enjoyed the podcast! I’m torn, because I don’t want to get my hopes up again only to be disappointed at the end, but I can’t help it when listening to you guys. So I’ll tune in to feel a spark of Zutarian hope again (just like in the old days when I had a “Zutara Evidence Archive” of my own), but then the pessimist in me will get angry and squelch the hope. Anyway, it was entertaining, so keep up the good work!
I wish you luck in dealing with any mic and/or general tech problems next time. I’m in an abusive relationship with a laptop myself, though I don’t think mine wants to kill me yet… *eyes screen suspiciously*
March 14th, 2008 at 11:52 pm
A.L.D lol thanks for the well wishes with the tech stuff XD
Uhm, don’t give in to pessimism. Pessimism always nips wonderful things that could be in the bud :S … keep the faith up
if it happens.. ITS AWESOME. If not.. well.. Mike and Brian are plan blind to see the potential they just wasted
March 15th, 2008 at 12:19 am
Love it! So hilarious to hear you guys! But, um, maybe you should check up with your facts, though. The Waterbending scroll is ep. 109 and The Storm is ep. 112.
March 15th, 2008 at 1:20 am
Yeah, I was that last Anonymous comment, before I realized I could leave my name. But just to add to that, I was wondering if you guys could look into getting this podcast up on itunes so that I could listen to it when I’m working out or whatever? That would be totally great, so that I wouldn’t have to just stare at nothing while I’m listening.
March 15th, 2008 at 1:33 am
Jess it’s up on itunes. Cos i subscribed to it myself XD look to the side bar.. there’s a button that says “add to itunes”
March 15th, 2008 at 7:21 am
i am officially addicted to the ZUTARIAN OASIS. you guys are zutarian goddesses! i worship you day and night, and i get really upset if your journals aren’t frequently updated with fanarts, etc. lol.
kidding aside, you guys ROCK! ^____^ this podcast sent tingles down my spine! comments through podcast:
I think that Taang is nice bcause of the way they interacted in the blind bandit. And the relationship between Aang and Katara is seen in the Runaway, she feels like she has to take care of everyone instead of being herseld. The fact that she let Zuko see her vulnerable and emotional side which she doesn’t show to her own friends is really interesting. i think she is really mad because Zuko betrayed her after she showed her vunerable side. Katara really didn’t have any boys her age in her tribe and the way Aang acts makes her treat him more like she would the kids from the tribe, but Zuko is very different. I think that is what lets her be more emotional around him. Zuko and Toph scares me a lot even more than Kataang. I think Maiko is a little difficult because Zuko changed in his years of banishment and he has an outside point of view. I really never understood Maiko either, they were fighting with each other like a few epps ago and then the moment Zuko joins them they start making out. like…what the… I think my mouse pad on my comp is EVIL and so is the keyboard. it keeps skipping some letters. AUGHHGHGH. I think Toph is the only confident Katara has in the group and she will probably tell her. I think with all the anger Katara needs to tell the full truth and i think hat has to do with her emotional feelings for Zuko and why she feels MORE betrayed I think the “beautiful” fire and red and blue dragons is a big Zutara. Fire and water can both destory an sustain life. i don’t remember katara having a crown. where is that? i hope they will make a book 4 called Air. Long LIVE ZUTARA!

Hi, you make some great points in this podcast, but just thought I’d point out that in the episode where its shows aang first choosing appa as his air bison, (the guru) there is a female monk showing them what to do, well, at least I always considered her female XD;
great job, keep the podcasts coming :3
zutara forever!

I love your podcasts and I listen to them almost everyday because it’s so fun to listen to so thanks for creating this TZO! it’s amazing.
I’d like to point out that Book 2 & Book 3 have been “in the works” since book 1! I was listening to the commentary on “Siege of the North Pole” Part 1 & 2 OH AND in the commentary for the Chase they mention the episode “the Runaway” so doesn’t that point even more so to Zutara? because that means these episodes we’ve seen so far were always going to be, they were not just added out of nowhere!
Once again great Podcasts!

YEEAAAHH. Go Zutara!! :] great podcast too.
I find when people say that Aang is 112 then it’s even more of a reason for Kataang NOT to happen. And since girls mature faster than guys, and Katara is fourteen, Aang is 12 (or 112, either way it doesnt work ;] ) and he hasnt reached puberty yet so he’s like a million times less amture than Katara, well Zuko is 16. about the perfect age of maturity FOR Katara. coincidence? i think not :]. And Katara is mad at Zuko cuz he was kinda like, no, i’ve changed, but right now i feel like ATTACKING ZEE AVATAAA!! and “zee avataaaa” is Katara’s main point of hope for this war to end, and for her to avenge her mom.
Also, i find that Katara never actually hated Zuko himself, except for when he helped Azula to kill Aang, who is her hope to avenge her mom. and that time is because he put her hope in danger, along with one of her best friends. But Katara hates the Fire Nation in general. It just happened that Zuko was the one who was always chasing them, and he has such a memorable face. So, she doesnt actually hate Zuko, she just associates the entire fire nation and her hate for it with the face in the fire nation she knows best. (which i find a bit suspicious, because when you think of a nation and you end up thinking of one person’s face.. hmm.. could there be an attraction there?)
